Not sure what they are for, but I would not call them a double boiler because you could not stir anything inside that shape of a pan. However, they are from a reputable seller, and they probably work well to heat additional items in the same pot.

I agree with Maryopal. I seem to remember a recipe in one of the cookbooks where you make baked beans in the big pot and bake some kind of brown bread in the #801 insert. Can't find it right now, but it sounds like it would work.

These particular pots are half-rounds, unlike the #801 insert.

Do you think that they would be able to fit in the single kettle without dropping into the food in the bottom of the pot? With both in place it might be stable, but I'm having a tough time imagining how you'd get the second half-round loaded in while fiddlng to hold the first one in place.

Well, toot, I didn't go look at the picture. I'm still from East Texas and I say show me the Chambers Mark on the bottom! This lady is selling some kind of Boy Scout camping gear as a real Chambers pot. I did fall off a turnup truck, but it wasn't yesterday.
